Yes, indeed, America's Living Legends. Reintroduced to the North American continent by the Spanish in the 1500's, they are now a mixed breed of horses turned out by ranchers over the years. Today there are approximately 30,000 wild horses on public land. Wyoming has an approximate population of 6,000 with 2,500 being managed by the Rock Springs District.
